Idea Builders Initiative supports Women & Girls to realize and achieve their highest potential. The organisation strives to deliver this mission by inspiring leadership ideals and fostering programmes that engage and equip Women & Girls to pursue individual dreams and professional aspirations.

By this, we:

¤ Provide Womenterprise Grants to young women to develop impactful social entrepreneurial projects ¤ Facilitate Mentoring Partnerships between Female role models and enterprising young women ¤ Form strategic partnerships with the Organised Private Sector to support our programmes & implement in collaboration with other NGOs; ¤ Convene an annual Women's Symposium, special events and more.

Now in its 8th year, IBI empowers women & girls to live lives of choice by inspiring, engaging, and equipping them. Each year, we mentor & build the capacity of our primary stakeholders to transform their lives and become change agents in society.

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES AND PROJECTS

The Director of Programmes is directly in charge of programme conception, creation, implementation, evaluation and impact. The Director of programmes will coordinate Idea Builders’ programmes nationally and will ensure that all programmes meet their desired objectives. The Director will also be charged to create new programmes and to strengthen and further develop existing programmes. The Director will work in conjunction with the Director of Research and Advocacy to ensure that all programmes are sustainable through a well-developed fundraising plan. The Director of Programmes will be a creative, innovative, hardworking and passionate person who loves children and young people and desires to see them achieve their maximum potentials as citizens and as human beings

 

Responsibilities

· Coordinate the effective planning, implementation and evaluation of all programmes nationally

 

· Direct overall programmatic strategy for the organization

· Supervise all programme and project staff and volunteers

· Conceive of and create and develop new programmes as necessary

· Ensure all current programmes are relevant, meet expectations of stakeholders and have an active support base

· Work with Director of Research & Advocacy to ensure that all programmes have a sustainable funding base

· Manage alumni and alumni relations to ensure their continuous involvement and follow up

· Assist with other functions and tasks as deemed necessary

 

Qualifications

· Minimum of a Second Class Upper Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Humanities (Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, or Political Science preferred) or related field from a recognized university. Master’s Degree is an added advantage.

 

· Minimum of five years’ experience in programming in the social sector, preferably with children and youth

· Ability to work under minimum supervision, self-motivating

· Enthusiasm, patriotism, self-confidence, purposefulness, passion and dedication

· Love for Nigeria, Nigerian culture and history and commitment to the advancement of African peoples

In Summary, we are looking for a passionate young person who wants to see dramatic changes in Nigeria and is creative enough to come up with innovative programmes to create this change. This person will have committed themselves to social work and have a love for young people, keen interest in their development and have an open mind for learning new things and taking bold and big steps to ensure that they succeed.

DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY

The Director of Research and Advocacy is directly in charge of the sustainability of the organization. The Director will coordinate the fundraising efforts of the organization including proposal writing, outreach to donor agencies, outreach to the private and public sector and general outreach. The Director will manage the public profile of the organization including newsletters, annual reports, impact reports and evaluation reports. The Director will ensure that all programmes are developed along best practices and that all advocacy efforts are aligned to meet the organization’s objectives.

Responsibilities

· Direct research and advocacy strategy for the organization

· Create proposals and actively seek out funding opportunities from local and international donors, the private sector and government agencies

· Respond to calls for proposal and other opportunities as they are made available

· Reach out to partners that will be interested and can enhance the work of the organization

· Coordinate the public profile of the organization including the publication of necessary reports including the annual report, impact reports and evaluation reports.

· Produce quarterly updates, newsletters and other public profiles

· Manage relationships with donors, partners and potential partners

· Other tasks as deemed necessary

 Qualifications

· Minimum of a Second Class Upper Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Business Administration, Mass Communications or related field from a recognized university.

· Minimum of five years’ work experience in fundraising or marketing

· Ability to work under minimal supervision, self-motivating

· Enthusiasm, patriotism, self-confidence, purposefulness and dedication

· Love for Women Causes, African culture and history and commitment to the advancement of Nigerian people

In summary, we are looking for an outgoing and innovative young person (or young at heart) who has the ability to find resources where they are, bring them out and put them to good use. The person will need to have a passion for the children and youth and see the importance of our work in order to effectively present the programmes and find resources for them. This person should be conversant with international grant proposals and should also have a familiarity with corporate CSR in Nigeria. The person should be willing to do what it takes to ensure the organization can be sustained and its objectives achieved both now and in the future.
